It's way better than my old engine. It's simpler and works better. There's no animation and you can jump multiple times while in the air but this could easily be fixed.

I'll explain more in detail later. Here's the .dsgm and compiled .nds:

I could also do it with objects for the platforms instead of a collision map. Thanks Jan and Will for helping me with that 8-)

"Engine" means the basic programming needed for a platformer type game. I'm not talking about a car engine or anything like that.

how stupid not to mension the error

if i load your dsgm file then the object then i get an error the the engine is missing.

Why do I fall through the floor sometimes, and how would you make it so you can only jump 1 time?

I think you're having the same problem as Buck_7. Download the action from my other post called "If BG Pixel Color.action". Then save that file to C:/Program Files/DS Game Maker/Actions

Yes, the one about missing the action. I think by "missing engine" thedark means "missing action".

What kind of colors can you use? Is it only white? Do you know what numbers thery are? Hello?!

asuming that he's using the if background color actions, it can be any color and to get the values, divide the normal 256 values by 8.

let's say the color for the red value is 256 in real life, but the DS looks at colors from 0-31. To convert it to what the DS needs we need to divide it by 8. So we take 256 and divide by eight and we get the a usable value.

i cant edit the object code, got an error about missing something.

I guess you do mean engine. "New Platformer Engine" is the name of the file. I have no idea why it would say it's not found.

Also, Buck, you shouldn't ever fall through the floor. Can you explain a little bit more about what you were doing when you fell through the floor?

I double jump, then as I land to touch the ground, I fall through it instead.

got the error
i downloaded your file in to the wrong dir.
the dsgm file was in the action so thats caused the error
