Working save/load game script?

Postby Guzv4 » November 7th, 2013, 11:32 pm

So, I started to work on a small project of mine after a long hiatus, but I just can't find/make a working one. Anyone can help me out?

Basically, I need a script that will load the last text message that has been written before saving, and the room in which the message was written/saved.

I uploaded a .dsgm with all the objects and graphics, so if anyone wants to help, please use it to understand what I'm talking about.

I haven't looked very closely, cause it is quite late but the saving/loading code that I use is here:

Don't know if it can be adapted for text but I am helping in the ways that I can

Projects

Pokemon-type game (70% complete; just need to add AI) will resume at later date

Current: A new project that I will likely never finish and will never be able to create the AI for. A project bigger than anything that I have done before. A project that I know is impossible for me to ever complete. But screw reality. I'm doing it anyway.

I tried both Foxi4s and the other one that has a tutorial in google docs or something, but I just can't make them work. Too bad the attachments Foxi4 posted are deleted.

I know this is still not what you are looking for, but you mentioned not being able to see Foxis tutorials in a .dsgm. This is an adapted one from when I was trying to make 2 variables save. From the look of it, it worked.

Hmmm.... Maybe my Dsgm got buggy. Because this doesn't seem to work either. Both in no$gba nor desmume.

Saving and loading does not work on NO$GBA (do not know about DSmume but I assume I would have heard of it if it did). The only way to get saving and loading to work is by trying your game on a real DS.
