Thanks for showing me that game! Sorry if I didn't say something back... the post got locked? I wanted to ask you if I could mod some of your game art on Living dead 2. I've always wanted to mod someone else's game art. (If you do), don't worry, I won't take it... I'll just give it back to you when I'm adding art and maybe a menu. I lost my flash drive with all my games and examples. I don't really like DSGM now. Mostly all I made was a maze game, and a menu with a very good button selecting. :? I'm in college now, too.

Sure, go ahead. I've also just now updated the game because you inspired me to do so. Next time I promise I'll add new weapons and another map. Here's the latest version: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3483 and you can go to the what's new to see what's new

So, I can open NDS files in DSGM? How would I do that? Do I need to open it with a script or something. I do say though, your programming skill are very good. I've all ways wanted to make a platform game like this for the DS.

No, you actually open .DSGM files with DS Game Maker. .nds files are the compiled executables.
You may call me BLsquared, Commodore, or TexasBatman. Preferably BLsquared.

Hmmm, then I don't know how to help, because the way I made my DS menus, their super hard to work with. I know I could make anyone's game look super fun. Here's some art from a game I never made.

I hand drew these on the computer.

it's really not all that hard once you get the hang of the basics, it's all about visualizing what you need to do and you can utilize what you do know to accomplish it. If you keep at it I'm sure you can do it to! I've been working with DSGM for what, 3.5 years now? I can now whip out projects with it in no time.

And for the compliment, thank you! I try to make the best games I can to really show off what DSGM (and myself) can do. Believe me, when I first started DSGM I never imagined making a game like The Living Dead 2. I couldn't do anything but now look where I am. As far as the mechanics in the game, I've done a lot of project before it that laid down the basics. Something I really want to do is bring back the CPU players into my games...

So now I'm thinking about making a completely different game. It's going to be called "Combat" or "Combat Evolution" if I chose more of a futuristic theme (you guys can vote on that perhaps although a space theme would require me to make new graphics...). Basically it will be your basic call of duty mulitplayer match with computerized opponents. I plan on building the engine from scratch again (I never rebuild a new game from the old or by copying and pasting a bunch of code) so it will be easier to make the new system because a lot will need to be changed so that the combat can efficiently be handled with 4 characters and I plan on adding new mechanics as well. I think I will cancel the next The Living Dead 2 update and instead work on this new game. I would love to rework some pvp action which I haven't done in DSGM in years. Also, I think it would be an interesting game idea that really hasn't been attempted yet. I'm curious about others thoughts on all this... If I can get this game to be as decent as The Living Dead 2, I can see this game being my all new favorite game that I've made.

I need to ask you guys about main menus for the DS. Why hasn't anyone made a good menu yet? If you guys made one, would you use codes, or objects and timers. I asked this questing because I've played a lot of game made from DSGM. I haven't see a menu with button selecting and stylus selecting. My menus use objects and timers. Would you guys want to see how well of one I make? Tell me: Yes. or No.

What do you mean? I've seen plenty of menus use stylus and maybe a few with buttons. What do you mean by using objects and timers?

Hmmm, okay, I'll show you by making a menu. I don't know what you'll think of it, but I hope you think it's interesting. I should be done with it by Saturday or Sunday.

I'm already thinking on making a game... I've failed to make my other one because of bad programming skills. I have an old DS file that someone gave out a long time ago, I'll start learning off of it, well somewhat, but it's a start.
